(Hamilton, OH) – The former fiancé of a woman whose body was found near Cedar Grove more than 10 years ago pleaded guilty Friday to Involuntary Manslaughter.

John Carter could get three years in prison and a $10,000 fine when he’s sentenced July 18 in Butler County Ohio.

He was scheduled to go on trial later this month.

The charges stem from the disappearance and death of Katelyn Markham.

She was last seen alive at her Fairfield, Ohio home in August 2011.

Search crews spent two years looking for Markham until her skeletal remains were found in a ditch along Big Cedar Road in April 2013.
