Guilty plea entered in 2016 Greensburg murder

Greensburg, In. — A 43-year-old suspect in a 2016 Greensburg murder has entered a guilty plea.

Police say Jason Eaton shot Wendy Sabatini in October of 2016 after she rejected a marriage proposal.

A report from the Greensburg Police Department says Eaton’s son found Sabatini’s body in their East Washington Street home following a school event. Eaton later turned himself in at the police station.

Eaton told police he approached her with a ring and declined the proposal before he could speak. He then got a handgun from the bedroom and shot her in the back of the head.

Sentencing has been set for March 5, 2018.
