Greg Pence joins Energy and Commerce Committee

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Greg Pence announced his new House Energy and Commerce Committee assignment for the 117th Congress and released the following statement:

The committee maintains principle oversight responsibility for rural broadband deployment, energy, interstate and foreign commerce, consumer protection, food and drug safety, public health and research, and environmental quality, among others.

Energy and Commerce has primary jurisdiction over the federal agencies responsible for rural broadband investment, and that is a major priority for Hoosiers in the Sixth District. Without access to reliable rural broadband, entire communities are left behind. Access to safe, modern, and efficient infrastructure impacts nearly every rural community and industry in the nation, from agriculture to health care and medicine. Connecting our rural communities is one of my top priorities, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rural Broadband access is a top priority according to Congressman Pence.
