Greensburg fell just one bucket shy of making Semi-State, falling to Scottsburg 48-46 in a 3A Regional Championship at Washington Saturday afternoon.
The Pirates trailed by 6 after the first quarter, but would keep the game within reach in the final two quarters before taking a two-point lead in the final minute.
The lead would be short lived as Scottsburg would pull ahead on the very next possession by converting on an and-1 opportunity following a foul on a made basket, giving the Warriors a 47-46 lead with around 20-seconds to go.
Ki Dyer’s attempt win the game on a buzzer-beating basket was unsuccessful, and Scottsburg would convert on one free throw to give them the 48-46 win.
Dyer was the top scorer for the Pirates with 18 points.
