Senior Emarie Jackson and junior Olivia Grimes both advanced to next week’s girls’ track and field regional at Shelbyville after a 1-2 finish in the shot put and discus in Wednesday’s IHSAA Sectional 24 at East Central.
Jackson earned a sectional championship and set new sectional and stadium records with a shot put throw of 50-2.25 and a discus throw of 156-4. Grimes finished second in the shot put with a throw of 39-8 and a discus throw of 125-6.
