Greensburg woman arrested on multiple counts of battery

GREENSBURG, Ind. — A Greensburg woman has been arrested after police say she hit a police officer while intoxicated.

According to police Deborah Washburn, 53, is facing three counts of Battery on a Public Safety Official and public intoxication.

Police say they were dispatched to a residence Washburn was trying to enter that she thought was a family member’s.

When police arrived, they found Washburn screaming but unable to form words.

Washburn was transported to the Decatur County Memorial Hospital where police say she became unruly and began swinging at staff.

She struck a police officer and an EMT, as well as an employee of the hospital who was attempting to draw blood.
