The Class 3A No. 8 Greensburg girls basketball team got off to a fast start against Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference opponent Connersville Saturday afternoon. The Pirates led 21-5 at the end of the first quarter on their way to an 81-47 win on the final leg of a three-game road trip. Aly Powers led the way for the Pirates with 20 points. Leah West scored 19 points and collected nine rebounds. Mylie Wilkison scored 13 while pulling down six rebounds and eight steals. Connersville was led by Ahniyah Bennett, who scored 15 points for the Spartans. The Pirates (7-2, 2-0 EIAC) return home Thursday night to host South Dearborn in a JV/Varsity doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m.
