Greensburg Police implement ‘Autism Alert System’

Greensburg, In. — The Greensburg Police Department will implement an “Autism alert System” for local children this week. The system is designed to add another layer of protection for parents will children diagnosed with the disorder.

The alert will provide first responders with information specific to the child and family. The information will direct emergency workers to the scene faster with more up-to-date information.

The system can also be used for autistic adults as well.

The effort will also use Operation Lifesaver, a bracelet system used to track kids and adults with special needs.
