(Washington, D.C.) – A Greensburg High School student took first place in Indiana’s 9th District annual Congressional Art Competition.

Malana Kramer was chosen as the contest winner, according to Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-Salem).

Kramer’s art, titled “The More The Merrier” will hang in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year.

In fact, she won the 6th District art competition last year when Congressman Greg Pence was her representative.

Southeastern Indiana has been represented on Capitol Hill by Congresswoman Houchin since January 2023, as a result of redistricting following the 2020 Census.

Each spring, a nationwide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Congressional Institute to recognize and encourage artistic talent throughout the country.

“The ninth district has so many talented student artists, and this competition is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talent of our district on a national stage,” said Congresswoman Houchin.
