Greensburg, Hoffman, McFarland, Parmer advance to golf regional

The first area boys golf sectional was played Friday at the Greensburg Country Club.  The host Pirates qualified for the Thursday, June 9 Providence Regional with a second place score of 331.

Columbus North won shooting 305.  The third and final regional qualifying team from the Tree City was Columbus East which posted 339.  North Decatur just missed advanceing by one stroke with 340.

William Davis of Columbus North was the individual sectional winner with a 72.

There were three local players who finished among the top three individuals not already on a qualifying team to earn a spot at the Champions Pointe course.  They include South Dearborn’s Eli Hoffman whose 73 was second overall, Devin McFarland of East Central’s Devin McFarland who scored 75 and North Decatur’s Carson Parmer who tallied 78.

Members and scores of Greensburg’s advancing team are: Colten Schroeder 79, Abe Tebbe 81, Hunter Springmeyer 85, Parker Phillips 86 and Jack McKinsey 99.

Other top scorers from local schools include: Batesville’s Jackson Wanstrath 88, Milan’s Jackson Voss 95, Jac-Cen-Del’s Sam Schwering 98 and Oldenburg’s Cale Johannigman 104.
