Greensburg educator receives top Ivy Tech award

COLUMBUS, IN — Congratulations to Catherine Anne Swinney of Greensburg, who was recently honored by Ivy Tech Community College at its annual President’s Award Dinner.

Swinney received the Gerald I. Lamkin Award for Excellence in Instruction.

This award is presented annually to one Ivy Tech adjunct faculty member in the state who best typifies brilliance in instruction and epitomizes Ivy Tech’s mission.

Swinney was nominated by the Dean of the Ivy Tech Columbus School of Nursing.

The award was named for Gerald Lamkin, who served as Ivy Tech president from 1983-2007 and shepherded the growth of Ivy Tech from a vocational school to the state’s community college.
