(Greensburg, IN) – Greensburg City Council voted 4-3 Wednesday night to approve the 2025 Elected Officials Salary Ordinance on second reading.

The motion to approve from councilman Jamie Cain included a stipulation that the education stipend be cut in half from what was originally proposed. This was a sticking point on first reading last month, which resulted in a 3-3 deadlock with Mayor Joshua Marsh casting the tie-breaking vote. A seventh council member was not in attendance at last month’s meeting.

Votes to approve the elected officials salaries on second reading came from Cain, Dr. Rodney King, Kevin Fleetwood and Daryl Tressler.

Darrell Poling, Mark Carman and Vietta McKenize cast the no votes.

Roll call votes were used for this and other 2025 monetary-related ordinances. Also approved on second reading were the 2025 City Budget, Greensburg Community Schools Budget, City Employee salaries, and Utility Employee salaries. Those measures each passed by 7-0 margins.
