The Greensburg boys tennis team took two of three matches at Saturday’s Shelbyville Invitational, defeating Shelbyville and Batesville, but falling to Bishop Chatard. The Pirates took down Shelbyville 4-1, thanks in part of straight set wins from singles players Mason McNulty, Dan Fisse, and Jake Duerstock. No. 1 doubles pairing of Jack McKinsey and Reece Beaver won 6-4, 0-6, 10-4. The Pirates then were defeated by Chatard by a 4-1 score. McKinsey and Beaver were the only winners with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Against Batesville, the Pirates won 3-2. McNulty won 6-1, 6-0. Duerstock won 6-1, 6-2. McKinsey and Beaver won at No. 1 doubles 6-4, 6-2. The Pirates are back on the court Monday at Jennings County at 5 p.m.
