Greensburg cross-country athletes TJ Gorman, Joe Hawkins, and Alaina Bedel were named Class 3A All-State selections by the Indiana Association of Track and Cross-Country Coaches (IATCCC) earlier this week.
Gorman was one of the 12 harriers named to the Class 3A All-State team. Gorman was also selected as the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference’s (EIAC) Most Valuable Runner after winning the conference title at Batesville earlier in the fall. He also set his personal best at the state meet, running 15:53.3. Gorman’s state performance is the eighth fastest time in school history.
Hawkins was one of three sophomores among 3A schools to earn honorable mention recognition from the coach’s association. He was the 2023 Decatur County Champion, running his personal best of 16:17.2, the 12th-fastest ever at Greensburg.
Bedel earned All-State Honorable Mention after a successful freshman season. Bedel is the fourth All-State selection in school history. She earned All-Sectional and All-Regional honors as she qualified for the State Championship in Terre Haute in October. During the state meet, Bedel ran a personal best of 19:46.2, the sixth-fastest time for 5000m at Greensburg.
