Glenn D. Moore, 91

Glenn Demoss Moore, 91, Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. Born, April 22, 1927 in Fayette County, Ohio, he was the son of Albert Demoss and Nona Faye (Wolf) Moore.  Glenn graduated in 1945 from Washington Court House High School in Washington Court House, Ohio.  On June 6, 1948 he married Mary Joan Babb at the Grace Methodist Church in Washington Court House.  Glenn and Joan moved to Greensburg in 1955 when they purchased the Moore’s Store.  They expanded this store three different times eventually incorporating the store into Moore’s True Value.  Glenn also acquired a True Value store in Madison and started the NAPA Store in Greensburg.  In 1967 he bought the Minears Clothing Store in Greensburg and in 1991 the Minears Store in Rushville. Glenn was a member of the United Methodist Church in Greensburg and a former member of the Kiwanis, Elks, Chamber of Commerce, and Downtown Retail Merchants. He loved boating, spending winters in Florida, and especially loved spending mornings with his coffee buddies. He is survived by four children, Larry Demoss (Beverly) Moore, Pamela Jo (Richard) McCalvin, Jeffrey Wayne (Cindy) Moore, Melanie Ann Moore, all of Greensburg; one sister, Helen Jones, Washington Court House, OH; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Joan in 1998; two sisters, Marjorie Wilt and Ercil Lewis. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9 to 11:00 a.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Bell officiating. Internment will be held in the South Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mary Joan Babb Moore Scholarship Fund through the Community Foundation or to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
