(Ripley County, IN) – An evening of food, fellowship and community giving will also mark the beginning of a major new investment in a Ripley County nonprofit.
The Ripley County Community Foundation will host its Women’s Giving Circle Sun, Fun, & Philanthropy Social from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 20, at The Tanglewood Boutique Hotel & Venue in Versailles.
The gathering is open to women from across the community and is designed to help attendees make new connections, learn about local charitable projects and see what can happen when donors combine their resources.
The Giving Circle will “adopt” a local nonprofit and provide it with $5,000 per year for three years to strengthen its programs and long-term sustainability.
New initiative will be unveiled
During the social, attendees will be among the first to learn which organization has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Giving Circle’s new three-year funding commitment.

The Giving Circle brings together women of different ages and backgrounds who want to improve the lives of women and children through philanthropy.
In 2026, the organization has already awarded $6,000 in grants to local groups. It also partnered with Ivy Tech Community College to establish a scholarship for single parents pursuing higher education.
Ripley County Community Foundation Executive Director Amy Streator said the gathering is intended to draw on the knowledge, talent and perspectives of women across generations.

Food, raffles and conversation
The social will be held in the courtyard at The Tanglewood. Guests will be served charcuterie cups from Pat’s Bulk Food and desserts from Proof 34 Bakehouse.
The evening will also feature mystery-box raffles. Each box is valued at $150 and will contain a selection of surprise items.
Membership offer for new guests
Current Women’s Giving Circle members may attend free. Women who are not yet members may join through a special introductory offer by making a $30 donation.
The deadline to RSVP is August 14. Organizers are encouraging current members to bring a friend and introduce more women to the Giving Circle’s work.
Edward Jones is serving as the event’s title sponsor. The Rockwood Family Foundation is the community sponsor.
