(Ripley County, IN) — The Ripley County Community Foundation’s Women’s Giving Circle has launched a new initiative aimed at providing longer-term support to nonprofits serving women and families.
Safe Passage is the first organization selected for the Women’s Giving Circle’s new Community Impact Initiative and will receive a $15,000 grant over the next three years.
The multi-year investment is designed to help strengthen Safe Passage’s long-term sustainability while supporting its work with individuals and families affected by domestic and sexual violence.
Safe Passage provides crisis intervention, legal advocacy, education and other resources for survivors. The Community Foundation says it is the only organization in Southeast Indiana dedicated specifically to serving victims of domestic and sexual violence.
Foundation officials say the multi-year approach comes as nonprofit organizations face uncertainty over changes in state and federal funding while demand for services continues to grow.
“As funding landscapes continue to shift at the state and federal levels, organizations like Safe Passage face increasing challenges in sustaining essential services,” Ripley County Community Foundation Executive Director Amy Streator said. “The Women’s Giving Circle is proud to stand alongside Safe Passage and help ensure that this vital resource remains available to individuals and families throughout southeast Indiana.”
The Women’s Giving Circle brings women together to support programs benefiting women and children across Ripley County.
Earlier this year, the group also awarded grants to the Luke 4:18 Meal Program, Milan CARES, Milan Food Pantry and SEI Voices for Children.
The Women’s Giving Circle is accepting new members interested in supporting programs that empower women and children in Ripley County.
