Tuesday  (3-3)
The St. Louis Lady Cardinals 8th grade team went to St. Anthony to play St. Nick.  They won with a final score of 49-10.  Scoring for SLS was Claire Saner with 10 pts, Catherine Streator with 6 pts, Kate Weber with 6 pts, Madison Wanstrath with 6 pts, Lilly Schebler with 5 pts, Lea Cossentino with 4 pts, Ava Owens with 4 pts, Sadie Wachsmann with 4 pts, Rhea Miller with 2 pts, and Iza Wonnell with 2 pts.  These girls played well together and were never playing with the same 5 all game.  Such a diverse squad that can play with any of their teammates and accomplishes all goals set while doing so.  Nice job ladies. Next week is the SEI tournament we play Monday at South Ripley against South Ripley!  Go Cards!

The 7th Grade Lady Bulldogs beat St. Mary’s 36-8 in B game action last night.  The girls played with great effort on both sides of the floor.  Leading the way scoring was Dottie Turner and Ava Powner with 8 points each; followed by Eva Struewing with 6 points; Addyson Weiler, Isabel Raab, and Georgia Voegele with 4 points; and Ryan Oesterling with 2 points.

Monday  (3-2)
The 7th Grade Lady Bulldogs won against Connersville, 27-6. Lady Bulldogs crashed the boards hard throughout the entire game resulting in many second-chance points. The girls also pressured the Spartans with good defense. Leading scorers were Aly Peters with 9 and Lydia Haskamp, Dottie Turner, and Veronica King with 6 points each. Next up the Bulldogs travel to Franklin County on Thursday night.  

The 8th Grade Lady Bulldogs fell to Connersville in a tight battle, 23-21. Lady Bulldogs worked hard on the floor, but had a hard time knocking down shots. Rachel and Sara Lamping had great defensive effort throughout the game. Lady Bulldogs take on Franklin County on Thursday, at Franklin County.

The St. Louis Girls 5th Grade team improved to 12-0 on the season with a 53-5 victory over the St Lawrence Lady Panthers on Monday, March 2. The Lady Cardinals came out hot as they took a 14-0 1st quarter lead behind Mimi Smith who had 6 of her game-high 15 points in the 1st quarter. The second quarter followed suit as Madden Showalter and Grace Gutzwiller each had 4 points as the Lady Cardinals took a 28-2 halftime lead. Madden Showalter finished with 10 points. Ella King kept things going for the Lady Cardinals in the 3rd quarter as she scored 8 of her 14 points on the way to a 44-2 3rd quarter advantage. Belle Young also contributed 6 points for the Lady Cardinals. The Lady Cardinals play their final game Thursday night as they take on St. Nicholas at 6 pm at the St. Louis Activity Center.

The 6th Grade Lady Cardinals faced off against St. Lawrence for the second time this season. The Cardinals beat St. Lawrence again, 18-14. Leading in scoring for the Cardinals was Bridget Lohmueller with 8 points. Rachel Suttmann added 6 points. Jaelyn Owens and Cora Roth had 2 apiece. This win brings the 6th Grade Lady Cardinals to 7-6 on the season. The Cardinals will be in action again Thursday at home for the final game of the season against St. Nicholas.

North Decatur Girls 8th Grade Basketball beat Southwestern High School 43-38. For ND-Kunz with 16 pts, Motz with 9 pts, Ogden 6 pts, Gearhart 6 pts, Custer 4 pts, and Stier 2 pts.
