Gerald Francis Callahan, age 71 of Versailles, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Ripley Crossing in Milan, IN. The son of Francis and Shirley (nee: Nelson) Callahan was born on October 28, 1946 in Xenia, Ohio.
Many knew Gerald by his nickname, Bulldog. Before he retired, he worked as a truck driver for Super Value in Xenia Ohio for many years and prior to that was a grain truck driver. Gerald enjoyed the outdoors and to camp. He and his wife, Sherry loved camping together and did so for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife Sherry; sons Michael J. and Douglas Callahan; step-children, Amy Merfert and Michael Merfert Jr.; eight grandchildren; and siblings, Jennie Phares, Nancy Hurley, Mureen Callahan and Tim Callahan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers David and Terry Callahan.
