George “Buck” Hillman Jr., age 94 of Batesville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. The son of George Sr. and Edna (Borhes) Hillman was born on November 24, 1926 in Moores Hill, Indiana. He married Joy Stille on August 13, 1951 in Sunman, Indiana.
The WWII US Army veteran was a member of Batesville VFW Post #3183 and Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. He was a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church. George retired from Don Bruns & Sons but continued to work as a parts delivery driver for Koch Auto for over 30 years.
He is survived by his son-in-law, Dennis Wallpe; one brother, Norm Hillman; and numerous nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents and wife, Joy, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Wallpe along with his sister, Vivian Burcham and brothers, Tom and Howard Hillman.
Visitation will be Monday, December 14, 2020 from 1-2pm at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Burial will follow in the Batesville Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Ripley County VFW Post #3183 and Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association c/o the funeral home by bringing to service or mailing to, Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
In accordance with the Indiana COVID-19 precautions, all attending are required wear a mask and follow proper social distancing protocol, capacity is limited to 25 at a time. If you are not feeling well, or if you have compromised immune system, you are encouraged to stay home.
