Genevieve (Noble) “Jenny” Jackson

Jenny was born on February 3, 1929 on Plum Creek, Switzerland County, Indiana to Rae Noble and Undine ( O’Day). She was preceded in death by husband, Edgar Jackson, her parents, sisters, Charlotte Turner, Gay King and brother, Jerry Noble.

Jenny leaves behind Daughter, Debbie (Tom) Cappel, and a Son David Jackson and Monica Schott, by Niece Teresa (Jeff) Craig and nephew Terry King. By Grandchildren:  Jamie Cappel, Kurt Cappel, Brandon & (Cassie) Cappel, Tasha & (Kasey) Kirkpatrick, Lindsay (Tim) Schnieder), & Logan Jackson, Tiffany Clark, & Lindsey (Zach) Cole. By Great Grandchildren:  Jack (Rhianna Hughes) Sullivan, Emma Sullivan, & Brady Cappel,  Laityn, Karter, & Kinzley Kirkpatrick, Josie Cappel, Kaydence Barnes, Addison, Rylee & Olivia Schneider, Luxley Jackson, and Rhiannon Clark.

Jenny was raised and attended school in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Later Jenny moved to Aurora, Indiana and lived with her sister, Charlotte & husband. Jenny became employed by Joseph E.  Seagrams Distillery and retired in 1987. May of 1988, Jenny was employed by the new Wal-Mart Center in Aurora. She was employed there for 25 years and retired at age 84.

Jenny & Edgar were married May 27, 1949, Memorial Day weekend at the church parsonage in Dillsboro, Indiana. They honeymooned in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Edgar and Jenny had two children, Debbie and David. They made their home in Dillsboro, Indiana and later moved to Rising Sun in 1959. In 1966 Jenny and Edgar purchased a farm in Switzerland County and turned this property into Shawnee Campground where they spent many good times camping with family and friends. In 1986 their niece, Teresa and nephew Terry King came to live with them. Terry continued to live with Jenny and helped with the care of her during the last few years.

Jenny was loved by family and the many friends she made during her lifetime.  She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and loved being with them during the holidays. Jenny loved going on vacation with her daughter, Debbie and son-in-law, Tom. She also loved watching the Cincinnati Reds and going to games occasionally. She also enjoyed dancing. Jenny and Edgar always looked forward to the dances at the Dillsboro Civic Center.

Jenny was baptized January 1998. She passed, August 7, 2024, quietly, surrounded by her family at St Elizabeth (Dearborn) Hospital. She will be sorely missed by children, niece, nephew, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.

Funeral Services will be 11 AM, Monday, August 12, at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN, with Eldon Fancher officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, August 11, 4-7 PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial services will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
