Geneva Faye Weiland, 94, of Versailles passed away at 5 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born in Hazard, Kentucky on January 13, 1930, the daughter of Homer and Ethel Noble Davis. She was married to Bill Weiland and he preceded her in death on January 2, 1989. Survivors include cousins Charles (Meredith) Begley of Lawrenceburg, David (Maegan) Begley of Lawrenceburg, and James (Emily) Begley of Bright, along with several other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her cousin Jaclyn Renee Begley. Mrs. Weiland graduated high school in Cincinnati in 1947. Her working career spanned several years, working as a secretary for Rish Equipment and also for Sade Supply in Cincinnati. She and Bill also owned and operated a grocery store in Price Hill and after moving to Versailles, they owned and operated Palm Gardens on the square in Versailles. Geneva liked to have fun and was always the life of the party. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 12 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will also be on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
