Genesis: Pathways to Success Working Toward Its Own Non-Profit Status

(Southeastern IN) – Genesis: Pathways to Success, an initiative of the Ripley County Community Foundation, has experienced significant growth over the past several years, including the tremendous expansion of programming opportunities.

Executive Director Clarice Patterson says, as a result, Genesis has outgrown the community foundation’s vision and mission statement, and s in the process of becoming its own, independent non-profit entity, which they hope to achieve by January 1, 2025.

“It’s been a conversation a year in the making, but this time it’s happening,” Patterson said.

“It’s super exciting. It’s really good stuff, and exactly what we’ve been meaning to do,” Patterson added. “Genesis was established back in 2007 and so it’s been a program of the community foundation for 16, 17 years now. The whole purpose of the program was for it to eventually become its own non-profit and we have reached that breaking point now.”

She adds the move will allow Genesis to serve students throughout Southeastern Indiana, plus look for more funding opportunities.

Patterson and Genesis intern Cayden Pohlman were the guests on Monday’s edition of WRBI’s The Daily Pod.
