(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County Commissioners received an update this week from Parks and Recreation Director Teresa Kovacich on the pool project.
Kovacich said the pool committee interviewed contracting firms that expressed interest in working on the project last week.
The companies were scored during the interview process, with the RL Turner Corporation of Zionsville receiving the highest score.
Commissioners went along with Kovacich’s recommendation and approved the hiring of RL Turner.
With a general contractor in place, the committee can now go ahead and request different costs and designs for the project.
The new pool/aquatic center is slated to be built on the existing footprint of Allen Memorial Pool.
The 60-plus year old facility is deteriorating and was not in operation during the last swim season.
