(Brookville, IN) – The Franklin County School Board is expected to approve a superintendent contract with Dustin Gehring next week.

Gehring was introduced at this week’s public hearing at which a three-year, $131,575 contract was proposed.

The contract runs from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027, and will be on the agenda at a special board meeting next Tuesday, June 18 at 7 p.m.

Gehring comes to Franklin County from Northwest Local Schools in suburban Cincinnati, where he most recently served as Director of Student Services.

He has been in education for 23 years and has also served as a social studies teacher, assistant principal and principal.

Gehring holds a Bachelors’ Degree in History from Mount St. Joseph University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from UC.

He succeeds Tammy Chavis, who announced her retirement in February.
