Gas prices expected to rise

Batesville, In. — As the price of gas rises due to seasonal additives, refinery issues could force prices even higher. Senior petroleum analyst Patrick Dehaan says major issues including fires at two facilities are expected to put upward pressure on prices in the Pacific Northwest and Gulf Coast regions. Also, refineries throughout the area are performing routine maintenance that can limit production.

The national average price of gas is about $2.55-per gallon. Locally, most stations are offering gas for around $2.49-per gallon.
