Two people were taken to the hospital after a three-car crash on Friday morning, police said.
At 6:47 a.m. a 2003 Dodge passenger car driven by 40-year-old Karen Demaree, of Osgood was northbound on State Road 129 and was preparing to turn left to go onto State Road 48 when she was struck in the rear end by a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero driven by Anthony Brinkman, 40, of Milan.
Police said the impact forced the Dodge into the southbound lane where it was struck head on by a 2008 Toyota Prius driven by 41-year-old Ralph O’ Neal, of Osgood.
Brinkman, who police said was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Margaret Mary Health with a head laceration and complaint of neck and back pain.
O’ Neal was sent to Margaret Mary Health with shoulder pain.
Indiana State Police Seargant Noel Houze reported, “Demaree was also complaining of being sore following the crash but was not transported to the hospital.”
The crash forced drivers to divert their route as the intersection was closed for an hour while police, firefighters, and EMT personnel were on the scene.
