Southeastern, IN—A Freeze Warning is in effect from midnight to 9 am on Saturday. The National Weather Service says that sub-freezing temperatures overnight with reach as low as 27 degrees in portions of the WRBI listening area. Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation, and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
As a precaution, the NWS says take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possibly bursting of outdoor water pipes, they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground water sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
