Franklin FFA Chapter reports successful 2017 convention

West Lafayette, Ind. — Franklin County FFA members wrapped up the state convention on the campus of Purdue University recently.

Shelby Kolb was the first member from the Franklin County FFA Chapter to run for state office. Kyle Seibert competed in the Freshman Extemporaneous Public Speaking CDE Kyle received 1st place and will be representing Indiana at the national competitions this fall.

The members that participated in the FFA State Band were Angela Doherty, & Kayla Galyen, and they performed with the band at several of the sessions. Andrew Herrmann was recognized for his Agricultural Processing Proficiency, which he earned 2nd place at State.

The members receiving their Hoosier Degrees were Sam Ludwig, Grace Moster, Luke Stirn, & Ben Ball. Our Voting Delegates this year were Ben Ball & Luke Stirn. The members that participated in State FFA Courtesy Corp were Nate Frondorf, Isaac Selm, Austin Volk, Peter Volk, Spencer Meier, Kyle Seibert, Heather Stenger, Luke Stirn, Ben Ball,Grayce Knapp, Sara Weaver, & Emily Wendel. These members helped with setting up for sessions and preparing for the different events the members could participate in, such as the dance.

We passed the slate of 2017-2018 State FFA officers, and we are excited to see what they will accomplish as officers this coming year.
