FRANKLIN COUNTY, IN — Sheriff Peter Cates has released the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office activity report for January 2022.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 601 calls for service. Among the calls for service investigated were:
- Property Damage Accidents 44
- Personal Injury Accidents 6
- Burglary/Theft 4
- Residential/Business Alarms 13
- Domestic Battery/Battery 11
- 911 Hang Up/Accidental Dial 83
- Suspicious Persons/Vehicles 58
- Traffic Stops 62
- Business/Residence Checks 1
A total of 32 arrests were made by Sheriff’s Deputies on the following charges:
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated 1
- Battery/Domestic Battery 1
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 2
- Possession of Marijuana 2
- Driving While Suspended 2
- Burglary/Possession of Stolen Property 2
- Failure to Register as a Sex Offender 2
- Rape 1
- Warrants 19
There was an average of 62 prisoners housed in the Security Center throughout the month of January. The maximum capacity for the Security Center is 75 inmates.
Deputies drove a total of 25,072 miles. The Transport Officers drove an additional 4,739 miles, for a total of 29,811 miles. The Transport Officers transported 20 inmates to and from the Department of Corrections facilities throughout the states of Indiana and Ohio. Additionally, Deputies conducted one prisoner transport to a medical facility for conditions that could not be treated by the jail doctor.
There was no real estate sold at Sheriff’s auction.
Sixty-one civil process papers were served.
