Franklin County Sheriff releases February Activity Report

FRANKLIN COUNTY, IN — Sheriff Peter Cates has released the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office activity report for February.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 653 calls for service in February. Among the calls for service investigated were:

  • Property Damage Accidents 39
  • Personal Injury Accidents 9
  • Fatal Accident 1
  • Burglary/Theft 9
  • Residential/Business Alarms 11
  • Domestic Battery/Battery 16
  • 911 Hang Up/Accidental Dial 78
  • Suspicious Persons/Vehicles 51
  • Traffic Stops 124
  • Business/Residential Checks 2

A total of 37 arrests were made by Sheriff’s Deputies on the following charges:

  • Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated 2
  • Possession of Marijuana 7
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance 5
  • Possession of a Syringe 1
  • Battery/Domestic Battery 4
  • Invasion of Privacy 1
  • Resisting Law Enforcement 1
  • Criminal Mischief 1
  • Warrants 15

There was an average of 62 prisoners housed in the Security Center throughout the month of February. The maximum capacity of the Security Center is 75 inmates.

Deputies drove a total of 26,520 miles. The Transport Officers drove an additional 2,743 miles for a total of 29,263 miles. The Transport Officers conducted 16 prisoner transports and transported a total of 17 prisoners to and from the Department of Corrections facilities throughout the states of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Additionally, Deputies conducted four prisoner transports to various medical facilities for conditions that could not be treated by jail doctors.

There was no real estate sold at Sheriff’s auction.

Seventy-one civil process papers were served.
