Franklin County man arrested on Child Pornography Possession charges

Franklin County, IN — Troopers from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post arrested a Franklin County man on a charge of Possession of Child Pornography after serving a search warrant on his Brookville area home on Friday.

The investigation by Trooper Vincent Scott began in July 2022 following a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

During the investigation, Trpr. Scott and detectives from the Indiana Crimes Against Children Task Force determined that images depicting child pornography had been downloaded by the resident of a home on Catfish Lane in Brookville.

Trpr.  Scott applied for and received a search warrant which was served on the residence on Friday.

ISP says while at the home, troopers determined that a resident, 54-year-old Mark A. Kolb, was in possession of  numerous images depicting child pornography.

Kolb was arrested and transported to the Franklin County Security Center where he was jailed on an initial charge of Possession of Child Pornography (Level 5 felony).

Kolb will soon make an initial appearance in Franklin County Circuit Court.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
