Franklin County junior varsity softball stacked up the runs in a 13-3 win over North Decatur on Wednesday.
North Decatur opened up scoring in the first inning when Elizabeth Meister tripled, scoring one run.
Franklin County pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. Kailey Edmundson’s single scored two runs. Cydney Morehead and Madison Perleburg’s ground outs resulted in one run each for the Wildcats.
Franklin County would score five more runs in the fifth inning. Morehead, Edmundson, Kendal Cain, and Jillian Harris each drove in runs during the inning.
Harris led the Wildcats to victory on the mound, lasting five innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out ten and walking one.
Meister took the loss for the JV Chargers. The pitcher allowed 17 hits and 13 runs over five innings, striking out three and walking zero.
Sydney Rohls, Katie Gearhart, Blanca Akba, Meister, and Kendall Hostkoetter each managed one hit to lead North Decatur.
Franklin County scattered 17 hits in the game. Tori Wuestefeld, Addyson Bischoff, Edmundson, Bella Lee, Cain, and Gardner all managed multiple hits for Franklin County.
