BROOKVILLE, IN — Franklin County High School is on remote learning starting today due to the high number of positive COVID-19 cases among students.
The high school has had around 75 students test positive in the first three weeks of classes with more awaiting test results.
The school will be closed this week in an effort to stop the spread and allow custodians to do a deep clean of the building. Students will return next Tuesday after the Labor Day holiday.
Meanwhile, athletics will continue at Franklin County High School. In an email to parents and guardians, Superintendent Tammy Chavis writes that, except for volleyball, fall sports take place outdoors, and that no one will be required to participate if they don’t feel safe.
