Francis J. “Joe” Walser

Francis J. “Joe” Walser, 96, of Greendale, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017.

He was born January 14, 1921 in Berea, KY, son of the late Francis J. and Anna (Cashman) Walser.
He served his country as a member of the United States US Navy during WWII.

He became an electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local 212, Cincinnati, Ohio for 65 years.

He was a lifelong member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary Avis Hunter of Hebron, KY., Joanne (James) Lange of Cassville, WI, and Alice V Walser of Akron, OH; sons, Francis J. (Hui Cha) Walser of Virginia Beach, VA., and Thaddeus R. (Colleen) Walser, of Dallas, PA.; 7 grandchildren (Robert, Maria, Liza, Matthew, Rachele, Douglas, and Joseph); 8 great grandchildren, (Lee-Lee, Caleb, Jacob, Tyler, Meghyn, Sawyer, William and Anna ); great-great grandson (Noah Issac and great-great grandaughter, Alina Pacentia ); brother, Robert Walser; brother in law, Frank Savage.

He was preceded in death by his spouse of 65 years, Avis (Geisert) Walser, by his brothers Jack Walser, James Walser; sisters, Ruth Savage, Betty Bernens, and Jane Ringer; brothers in law, Len Bernens and Bob Ringer; sister in law, Margaret Walser.

Friends will be received Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 11:00 am, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Lawrenceburg, Indiana with Father Peter Gallagher officiating.

Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
