Brett Fox of Hidden Valley, IN passed away Thursday, February 21 as a result of a car accident. His truck hit an untreated patch of black ice on his way to school. Brett was 18 years old and was the dear son of Heather and Kevin Fox and big brother to Ryan. He was a senior at East Central High School and had recently signed an Academic and Athletic Scholarship to play Linebacker with Thomas More University. Brett was looking forward to playing alongside his cousin Sid, who recently transferred to Thomas More.
Brett had achieved so many accomplishments and awards including Academic All State, National Honor’s Society, Captain of the Football Team, 2017 State Football Champion, EIAC All Conference, EIAC All County and Honor Roll awards dating back to grade school. He supported all of the sports at East Central and he could always be found cheering on his school mates. Brett’s final accomplishment, much like in life, was to give to others; his spirit will continue to live on in several recipients from his cornea (eye) and tissue donations.
In addition to his parents and brother, Brett leaves behind his Grandparents Donna Fox of West Harrison, IN and Michael and Kristie Shriver of Hidden Valley Lake, IN; aunts and uncles Mike (Genny) Fox of Batesville, IN, Fred Fox III of Colerain, OH, Dave (Kelly) Fox of Bright, IN and Carey (Todd) Brown of Greenville, OH as well as his cousins Jessica (Curt), Hannah, John, Mike, Seth, Sid, Savannah, Rowan and Gunner. He is preceded in death by his Grandpa Fred Fox.
A celebration of life will be held for Brett at East Central High School on Wednesday, February 27 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
