CINCINNATI– The Reds have signed a “new,” yet familiar, face.
Catcher Tucker Barnhart, who began his professional baseball career when Cincinnati drafted him 10th in 2009, is back with their organization.
Barnhart’s signed a minor-league contract, after having been designated for assignment, then cut, by the Diamondbacks. Over 8 seasons with the Reds, he won 2 Gold Glove awards.
Since 2021, he’s bounced around to a few clubs, like the Tigers, Cubs, and most recently, Arizona. No word yet on exactly where he may go with the Reds this time around.
