Michael Thomas Daily (Spike) of Hudson, Indiana, passed away November 18 after an extended illness. He was born May 25, 1975 to David and June Daily in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he lived until he was nine before moving to Batesville, Indiana.

He was a devoted and loving husband to April and father to Brianna. He is survived by his parents from Myrtle Beach, SC, best brother and friend David Daily Jr. from Gulf Breeze, FL and sister Kimberly Waller from Lexington, SC. Mike stepped up for April’s children Brittany and Kyle and was a fun Grandpa to Dominic, Lucas, Wyatt and Maddox. Uncle Mike is survived by nieces and nephews Marissa, Morgan, Ian, Emma, Gianna, Matthew, Sarah, Drake, Ray, Abbie and Alicia.

Mike was a superior athlete and wrestled since he was just 5 years old and ended up becoming the Indiana State Championship in 1992. This was the first state champion of any sports in Batesville High School history. Upon graduation from high school, he attended the University of Indianapolis on a wrestling/soccer scholarship and earned his BA in Education. He even competed with the international team in Japan and won first place. He played a lot of softball until retiring at 40 and switching to cornhole. He also was a great pool player, an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, hunter and fisherman.

Mike was loved by all, had a completely unique personality, beautiful blue eyes and was certainly one of a kind. The life of the party and you always knew if Mike was there. He had a big heart for everyone and would do anything for his friends. Myrtle Beach was his favorite place in the world and he visited every year.
