DECATUR COUNTY, IN — A former local assistant fire chief has been arrested following a child crimes investigation.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office says former Greensburg Assistant Fire Chief Andrew Witkemper, was arrested Tuesday at his home in Millhousen.
The 45-year-old Witkemper is charged with Child Solicitation, Child Seduction, and Possession of Child Pornography.
All three counts are Level 5 felonies.
Witkemper’s bond was set at $25,000 during an initial hearing Wednesday afternoon in Decatur Circuit Court.
His jury trial is scheduled to begin on February 16, 2022, at 9 am.
In a press release, Sheriff David Durant’s office is reminding the public that, as with all defendants, Witkemper is innocent until proven guilty.
