Wilmington, Oh.— The National Weather Service says Friday a sharp cold front will descend into the tri-state dropping temperatures to the mid 20’s. As the temperature falls, rain will change to freezing rain, to sleet and snow. Winds will increase with gusts up to 20-miles-per-hour. Total accumulation today will be 1 to 2 inches.
Friday night breezy conditions continue and accumulating snow should taper off by midnight. Temperatures will continue to fall into the teens with wind chill values below zero.
Meteorologists say Saturday the system passes and much colder air moves into the region. The extended forecast shows temperatures remaining below freezing through next week.
