‘Flying Circus’ coming to Hagerstown

Hagerstown, Ind. — The 10th Annual Hagerstown Flying Circus will be held Tuesday, July 18 from 2 to 8 p.m. The event features more than 40 aircraft and is in conjunction with the Ford Model T celebration. The event is presented by the Hagerstown Optimist Club.

Organizers say there will be some of the top pilots in the nation participating in competitions, precision landings and flour bombing.

“More than 40 aircraft are expected to land here, including two open cockpit bi-planes that may be offering rides like last year,” said Denny Burns who chairs the event, sponsored by the Hagerstown Optimist Club.  “The ‘gates’ open at 2 p.m., but really there are no gates, the event is free so we don’t need gates.”

Aircraft from Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia and Arkansas are expected to fly in.
