Southeastern IN — A Flood Watch remains in effect through 2 pm Saturday.

Up to four inches of rain is possible in some spots.

Franklin County Schools are on E-Learning today (Friday) because of flooded roads, bridges, and low-water crossings.

Twenty-five volunteers worked nine hours to fill and stack 4,000 sandbags starting Thursday afternoon in an effort to protect the historic Metamora Depot on US 52 from flood waters (pictured).

The Depot is used by The Whitewater Canal Scenic Byway Association as its headquarters.

Meantime, law enforcement, fire, and emergency management officials are reminding motorists who come upon a flooded road to turn around and find an alternate route. The phrase they commonly use is “Turn around, don’t drown.”
