Flood Watch issued for area from 7 am Thursday through 1 am Friday

SOUTHEASTERN IN — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Watch for Southeastern Indiana from 7 am Thursday until 1 am Friday.

Forecasters say flooding caused by heavy rain is possible.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Soils are still moist and excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone areas.

People in the watch area, especially those living in areas prone to flooding, are urged to be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The NWS says people in the watch area should also monitor the latest forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings.
