Flood Warning in effect for Decatur County until early Friday; three other area counties under Flood Advisory

SOUTHEASTERN IN — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Warning for Decatur County until 1:45 am Friday, and a Flood Advisory for Ripley, Franklin, and Dearborn counties until 3:15 pm Thursday.

In addition, a Flood Advisory has been issued for the Whitewater River at Brookville through late Friday and into early Saturday.

At 16 feet, lowland flooding is expected near Cedar Grove and New Trenton, along with West Harrison and Harrison, Ohio.

The action stage along the Whitewater River is 14 feet, with a flood stage at 20 feet.

Forecasters say flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected, with flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone areas likely.

Residents are urged to be aware of their surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
