Flames Destroy Farmers Retreat Home

(Farmers Retreat, IN) – No one was injured when flames destroyed a home on the 73-hundred block of State Road 62 in Farmers Retreat early Sunday morning.

The Friendship Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene around 12:55 a.m. and arrived to find the house fully involved.

A total of 32 firefighters from five departments responded.

An estimated 44-thousand gallons of water was used to battle the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

“Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they work through this devastating loss,” wrote the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department on a social media post.

Other responding agencies included the Versailles, Dillsboro, Moores Hill, and Aurora volunteer fire departments, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office and Aurora Emergency Rescue Unit.
