First measurable snowfall of the year leads to problems on the road

Southeastern IN — The area’s first measurable snowfall of the season took place Saturday morning, and it caused some problems for motorists.

There were a number of slide-offs and crashes reported on I-74 between St. Leon and Greensburg.

At least one person was injured in what’s believed to be a weather-related accident on eastbound I-74 at the 139-mile marker in Greensburg just before 10:30 am.

The snow fell until around 11 am and quickly moved out of the area.

The National Weather Services says a record snowfall of 1.2 inches was set in Cincinnati on Saturday, which breaks the old record of 0.7 set in 2013.
