(Greensburg, IN) – The City of Greensburg has set this year’s first Heavy Trash Week for May 20-24.
As in the past, items will be picked up on your normal trash collection day.
Street Commissioner Mark Klosterkemper says they’ll go by the same rules that have been in place since the second collection in 2022.
That’s when construction debris was eliminated from the list of acceptable pick-up items due to Street Department workers collecting an overwhelming amount of items.
This year’s second Heavy Trash Week is tentatively scheduled for August.
After that, Klosterkemper says they’ll review volume numbers and consider whether to conduct Heavy Trash Week once a year starting in 2025, but that has not been finalized.
Klosterkemper provided the information to Greensburg City Council Wednesday night after the Board of Works gave the green light for May’s Heavy Trash Week earlier in the evening.
