St. Leon, IN — The Food & Growers Association (FGA) is partnering with the Society of St Andrew’s to glean potatoes at Lobenstein Farm in St. Leon today (Friday) from 10 am until 1 pm.
The Society of St Andrew’s gleans produce – or gathers leftover items after the harvest – from farms and donates it to local food banks.
Lobenstein Farm contacted the FGA about extra potatoes that aren’t needed.
The owner wants his produce to be used rather than stay in the field.
FGA says the locally-produced food will be given to neighbors in need.
