Felony Neglect charges filed against dad in Emma Sweet’s death

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, IN — A Columbus dad is being held on a $1.2 million bond after he allegedly drove into the White River last week, killing his two-year-old daughter.

A felony count of Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Death has been filed in Bartholomew County against 39-year-old Jeremy Sweet.

He’s accused of driving his truck into the river and giving conflicting stories to investigators on the whereabouts of his daughter Emma (pictured).

The little girl’s body was found on Sunday.

In addition to the neglect charge, Sweet is also facing charges of Unlawful Possession of a Syringe and Being a Habitual Offender.
