(Brookville, IN) – The Franklin County Community School Corporation (FCCSC) is looking for a new Superintendent after the school board unanimously approved Tammy Chavis’ request to retire at Monday night’s meeting.
The school board acted on a separation agreement, in which Chavis will retire in mid-contract.
She offered to stay in the post until December 31, 2024, or until the school board hires her replacement.
Chavis’ superintendent contract was extended last year.
She was hired as FCCSC Assistant Superintendent in March 2013, and was promoted to Superintendent upon Dr. Debbie Howell’s retirement in January 2020.
